The Nu Mu Nu chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc in Kokomo was originally conceived by Bro Angelo Youghbor with the assistance of Bro Gideon Green. In 2016 the idea to establish a graduate chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc in Kokomo and Noblesville In was brought to fruition by several graduate brothers residing in Kokomo and Noblesville, Indiana. Many brothers were contacted to ascertain if they had similar interests. This group of brothers with similar ideals and like attainments came together and began the necessary steps to charter the Chapter.

On October 26, 2016, District Representative Darryl Jones presented the motion to approve a charter in Kokomo, Indiana to the Supreme Council where it was voted on and passed unanimously. The charter was granted on November 1, 2016. The Charter members of Nu Mu Nu chapter consisted of the following brothers, Brother Anthony Carter, Brother Ed Foster, Brother Gideon Green, Brother Clarence Grier, Brother Antonio Hampton, Brother Derrick Hicks, Brother Harold Smith, Brother Ted Sutton, Brother Lance Washington, and Brother Angelo Youghbor.

The first official meeting took place on November 12, 2016, at the Carver Community Center. The following brothers were elected Basileus Anthony Carter, Vice Basileus Angelo Youghbor, Keeper of Records, and Seals Gideon Green, Keeper of Finance Bro. Ed Foster and Chaplain Harold Smith.
